Weather Synopsis for Friday night through Sunday
A warm front is brushing the Olympics and northwest Cascades early this afternoon with clearer conditions further east and south. As the frontal system slows and becomes more north/south oriented offshore tonight, we'll see precipitation lift north into Canada. A slow moving cold front will weaken as it passes through the Cascades late Saturday morning. West of the Cascade crest, mild freezing levels from today will continue overnight. Once the precipitation begins later Saturday morning, we'll see snow levels quickly lower to around 3000-3500'. It will be cooler in the Passes and along the east slopes of the Cascades overnight and Saturday morning thanks to cool offshore flow.
An upper level trough will keep showers going on Saturday and Saturday night. A similar north/south oriented frontal system will pass through on Sunday. This weekend promises to be wet and windy with snow levels between 2000-4000'. Snowfall accumulations will be the highest for the Mt Baker area and in the Olympics.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Sunday night through Tuesday
The series of storms will continue through early next week. Look for the strongest of the bunch to arrive sometime Monday through Monday night, followed by good post-frontal showers that could rack up some more impressive storm totals. The weather pattern will become less active later in the week.
